OK, I don't know how many potential investment bankers there are amongst you all, but just in case...

Inside & Out is a special event being held in London on the 28th November that will give lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students the chance to find out more about careers in investment banking.

Hosted at a prestigious (but as yet undisclosed) central London location, the event is being sponsored and run by the Interbank LGBT Forum, an industry-wide group whose aim is to promote career opportunities in investment banking. Places are limited, and full details of the application process can be found on the event's website: http://www.insideandout-banking.com

We've had an update on this - the "prestigious central London location" is the Savoy! So they really weren't kidding.

If anyone's interested in attending, the information in the new e-mail is as follows:

Inside & Out is a a free social networking event to help LGBT students find out about the several career paths available in investment banking. Inside & Out will take place on Wednesday 28th November 2007 at the Savoy and is set to be a truly fun and insightful evening.
A brief presentation by the LGBT Interbank forum and key investment banks will be followed by drinks, canapés and social networking – a vital tool to land your ideal graduate job!
To attend please forward your CV to diversity@milkround.co.uk and invite your friends to apply at www.insideandout-banking.com

The CV should give details of all your A-level and degree (or equivalent) grades to date, as well as some thoughts about why you would like to attend; travel expenses will be reimbursed; and you'll need to register on the website (http://www.insideandout-banking.com/).

If anyone intends to go, it'd be really good if you could let us all know and tell us how it went!

I remember Em going a few years back and finding it useful and interesting - so it is definitely worth looking into if you are interested in banking.

Ooh, there's another event! Craziness... Details below

This November, the Goldman Sachs’ Gay and Lesbian Network, in conjunction with diversity recruiting, will be hosting a dinner for penultimate year students interested in careers in investment banking. During the event GALN members would like to share their own experiences within the industry and expose attendees to the breadth and depth of opportunities available to graduates, and the diversity of individuals and cultures that thrive in this dynamic and exciting environment.

The event is on 22nd November, from 6-8:30pm at the Goldman Sachs offices in London (River Court, 120 Fleet Street, EC4A 2QQ), and the closing date for applications is 15th November. If you'd like to apply, visit gs.com/careers and navigate your way to the Upcoming Events in Europe page.
